1.Single-disc tool magazine and toolless mechanism without robotic hand

 

Single-disc type tool magazine is commonly called bucket type tool magazine (like a big bucket type). Generally, only 16 to 24 tools can be stored. It ca n’t be too much. If it ’s too much, this “dipper” will be too big to fit. This bucket type tool magazine moves the entire tool magazine toward the spindle during tool change. When the tool on the spindle enters the slot of the tool magazine, the spindle moves upward to leave the tool, and the tool magazine rotates. When the tool to be changed is aligned directly below the spindle, the spindle moves down to make the tool enter the spindle cone. After clamping the tool, the tool magazine returns to its original position.

 

2, chain tool magazine and tool changing robot

 

Chain type tool magazine is characterized by more tools. Generally more than 20, more can be saved 100. It transfers the tool to be changed to the specified position through the chain. The tool is mounted on the main shaft by the manipulator, and all the tool changing operations are structured by a motor and a mechanical cam. The structure is simple and reliable, but the price is high.

 

The tool change time of the bucket type tool magazine is 5 to 7 seconds, while the tool change time of the robot is 2 to 3 seconds. Although the tool change time of the bucket type magazine is slower than that of the manipulator, it only takes 5 to 7 seconds. This efficiency is totally acceptable as a Chinese company. So the key to choose which kind of tool magazine depends on how many tools you generally need.

 

As for the quality of the tool magazine itself, now the tool magazine is already a specialized social production. So no matter how big the manufacturers of CNC machine tools are, their tool magazines are bought. So no matter the size of the CNC machine tool manufacturer is large or small, as far as the tool magazine and tool changer are concerned, they are all on the same starting line.
